Government responds to Social Services allegations The Government has responded to the allegations made by the Oppositon in regards to the child abuse by the Social Services Agency.
Number Six has said, "The latest statement by the Opposition on the Social Services Agency amounts to very serious and generalised allegations against Social Services Agency employees of child abuse.
"If a parent or other next of kin makes any such allegations in a specific case, they would of course be fully and properly investigated by the Agency and other relevant authorities. However, to deal with such issues through political public statements is wholly improper and unacceptable.
"It seems to the Government quite wrong that Social Services Agency employees should be collectively smeared in this way by the Opposition, without the opportunity or protection of any process of verification of the truth of the allegation."
