| Present support workers "welcome inquiry" Present support workers at Dr Giraldi Home welcome an inquiry, "as they firmly believe in human rights," says a statement from the TGWU following the protest staged outside the Mackintosh hall as leaders arrived to take part in a televised election programme. The union adds that the workers code is clear, they adhere to the five principles of O'Brien: Community Participation, Community Presence, Respect, Choice and Competence "and they will continue to provide and improve their service." At Dr Giraldi they have received nothing but praise and compliments from the parents, families and management not only through correspondence, but also in person, and they are extremely grafeful for the amount of support they have received, not only through phone calls, but by visits, following the protest. http://www.panorama.gi/localnews/headlines.php?action=view_article&article=2638 | |
